On Saturday, September 24, an Autumn collection of waste electrical and electronic equipment took place at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary parish in Zerzeń. The residents of Zerzeń and the surrounding areas have once again shown how important and necessary such initiatives are for the local community.

The confirmation is an impressive result of the collection. In just five hours, we collected nearly 2.5 tons of waste equipment and 60 kilograms of waste batteries.

In return for the waste brought in by the residents, we handed out beautiful plants and eco-friendly bags, while visitors to our educational stand received brochures and leaflets on the correct handling of waste electrical and electronic equipment and waste portable batteries and accumulators.

The campaign titled “FOR ENVIRONMENT WE CARE – RECYCLING WASTE IS FAIR” implemented in cooperation with przetwarzaj.pl, has come to an end. The project is aimed at pupils aged 6-10 from primary schools in the Kraków suburbia area. Alongside a greater awareness of the potential risks to the environment and human and animal health posed by mishandling of waste batteries and packaging waste, project participants will be made aware of the benefits of recovering valuable raw materials through recycling. The educational activities come in the form of theme-based meetings such as lectures, presentations, competitions. Having children involved in the activities proves that it is worth educating the youngest, shaping their habits and awareness of their actual environmental footprint. Pupils happily bring this message to their homes, thus educating their siblings, parents and grandparents.

The 13th Final of the Poland-Wide Ecological Contest „Good Solutions for Electronic Waste – Leave Me in Good Hands – 2022” took place on Friday, 10th June in the Copernicus Science Centre in Warsaw.

Until today, 13 editions of the contest have been attended by 337 School Eco teams from the entire Poland. Those teams have been composed of 2,028 participants. We have collected over 700 tons of the used-up electrical and electronic hardware and over 42 tons of the used-up batteries and accumulators.

This year’s edition of the „Good Solutions for Electronic Waste” contest, the aim of which is to boost pro-environmental attitudes among primary school students in the field of correct handling of waste electrical and electronic equipment and waste portable batteries and accumulators, took place in accordance with the plan, despite restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic and remote education. This is thanks to a immense commitment of both the pupils participating in the competition and their school guardians. It is only through their determination and creativity that we managed to organise the collection of waste electrical and electronic equipment and waste batteries, the results of which was truly impressive. We have collected over 50 tons of used-up electrical and electronic hardware and nearly 3,5 tons of used-up batteries and accumulators.

The educational campaign “Children Protect the Environment. Child-friendly environment”, addressed to children attending kindergartens in Pruszków, is right now underway. The theme of the campaign is how to properly handle waste equipment and batteries. The campaign is accompanied by a contest consisting in the collection of waste portable batteries and accumulators. The contest will last until 16 September 2022. As part of the project, on 19 May (Thursday) and 20 May (Friday), we held educational classes in four municipal kindergartens. During educational workshops, the children learned secrets of proper waste segregation and how to properly deal with waste equipment and batteries. The enthusiasm and commitment of the children during the classes taught by our EcoEducators show that it is worthwhile to educate the youngest, shaping their proper habits and awareness of the real impact they have on the environment. Moreover, the youngest happily bring this message to their homes, thus educating their siblings, parents and grandparents.
