478 children aged 6-9 from the Małopolskie Voivodeship took part in this educational project, implemented on the initiative of AURAEKO OOSEE S.A. and AURAEKO BATERPAK OOO S.A., by przetwarzaj.pl. The project taught how to reduce the negative impact on the environment and man of:
- waste electrical and electronic equipment,
- waste batteries,
- packaging waste.In a special way, the project highlighted the treatment of used equipment and used packaging to the form of fractions which can be reused for the production of new goods or are used in other complex production processes of other goods.
The educational forms used to achieve the assumed goals of the project were:
- Educational classes on the dangers arising from inappropriate handling of electro-waste and packaging waste.
The theoretical activities took the form of meetings at school with the use of didactic methods such as: lectures, demonstrations, competitions, green picnics, green appeals). During the classes, raw materials and semi-finished products obtained from partner companies were used as elements in the recycling chain of both packaging, electrical and electronic equipment and batteries. The correct course of the recycling cycle of particular waste fractions was presented in an illustrative way. In order to facilitate children's assimilation of complex knowledge, a number of forms of teaching were used, including: presentations, chats and puzzles.
The possibility of tangible checking of semi-finished products or raw materials created during the packaging recycling cycle caused very enthusiastic reactions. During the classes, przetwarzaj.pl used: ground bottle caps, samples of regranulate made from plastic bags or bottle caps, "cut-chips" made from the grinding of buckets or containers, as well as grinding of electronic equipment housings in order for children to better visualise the individual stages.
The issues concerning batteries have also aroused a lot of emotion. The children participating in the programme showed a lot of knowledge and understanding of the subject. The basic chemical composition of batteries was known to the participants, as well as the basic risks associated with used batteries (leakage or ignition of batteries). The demonstration of an area that can be contaminated by one small
battery, as in the previous year, proved to be exceptionally attractive and appealed to a large number of people.

Activities related to the collection included information campaigns about the project and the collection and organization of the collection itself. Teaching materials were used such as: educational posters and information posters, leaflets and gadgets made available free of charge by: przetwarzaj.pl and AURAEKO. The children collected 2,080 kg of electro-waste and 980 kg of waste paper.
